The code (in Dutch: Code Verantwoordelijk Marktgedrag) recognises each party’s right to exist and makes a moral appeal to everyone involved to arrive at a fair deal together when work is tendered, contracted in or outsourced. The code provides a framework for such a fair deal. A framework you should be committed to putting into practice once you have signed. Client, contractor and employee must all be able to rely on that.
Trust that must also be there at moments when things get tense. Tense around the question of whether or not the deal can be made, because that is when the temptation to turn a blind eye is great. It is precisely at such moments that, as co-signatories, you should keep each other sharp and take another look at the Code.
To keep each other sharp, as many parties as possible need to sign the Code with conviction. Only then does the Code contribute to creating a market in which fair deals can come about. We are happy to contribute to spreading the word about the need to sign the Code and to comply with it when making and carrying out fair deals on the basis of fair play.
